A few months ago, my brother Bob gave me our parents' (Earl M. and Maggie J Brown) mission letters, journals and photos for the purpose of sharing them with the Church History Dept. The history of the Colombia Venezuela Mission (where they and Bob served) is currently being written, along with the history of the church in some other S.A. countries. With some help from our FamilySearch library, I have digitized these records, so that they can be readily available to any family members who would like to have access. Our counterpart (Church History Adviser) who supervises church history work in several South American nations, was very excited to receive the digitized copies and has repeatedly thanked me for the records and for our family's service in South America. Now I am thinking the best thing to do with the originals is to donate them to the Church History Library in SLC. There they will be archived and preserved much longer than will be the case if we keep them, and they will be available for future generations. I am open to feedback from any members of the family who
have opinions in this matter.
